Department of Economics Gathered for a New-Term Breakfast Event

The academic staff of the Department of Economics came together at a breakfast event held at 09:30 on Friday, January 23, at the beginning of the new term. Organized at the start of the 2025–2026 academic year spring semester, the meeting aimed to evaluate ongoing departmental activities and strengthen academic exchange. The event was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Faruk BAL.

During the breakfast program, the change in the headship of the department was announced to the academic staff for the first time at this event. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin KAYA was appointed as the new Head of the Department of Economics. Held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the gathering addressed academic goals for the new term, course-related processes, and issues aimed at enhancing intra-departmental collaboration. Through mutual exchange of views, the importance of academic communication and solidarity in contributing to the quality of education was emphasized.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin KAYA expressed his best wishes for a productive and successful new term for the entire academic staff, highlighting that the contributions of faculty members play a crucial role in the department’s academic development. He also briefly shared information on planned activities for the upcoming term and underscored the importance of strengthening a culture of collective decision-making and cooperation.
